Blitz SBC ID is the best in my opinion. Not cheap though. Steer clear of the Apexi AVC-R. Another good one is the Greddy Profec B.

99% of em will replace your amal valve...

all they are is basically a type of amal valve (ie electronic bleed valve) thats controlled by a mini-ecu thing (the conroller itself)

Does that send any signals to the ECU that it's not hooked up or is it just a on/off circut?

Looks pretty good, but then so does the AVC-R and that was pants on mine. I would only go for a controller that is proven. The SBC-ID does EXACTLY what is required of it. Controls boost, thats where others have failed IMO.

I run the Profec B-II

Very happy with it, dual solanoid control, no frills, simple to use, does exactly what it says on the tin

Take a look on ebay there are always boost controllers on there second hand. The American site had the majority but i dont think that there is a problem with international shipping with the majority of sellers on there.

Well it looks like I'll be getting the Profec B II. It seems like a good product for the price.

Hi

I don't get it ?????
I understand how the actuator works with the amal valve!

So what should it help to put on this boost controler that Ranj has linked to ????
The actuator on the turbo will still open at what ever it set at ???? preventing overboost

Is it used to get better controll between 0 to max safe(actuator controlled) boost then ????
If so then i'm happy with the std. system using the amal valve.

Cheers Kennert

The boost controller replaces the amal valve and opens the wastgate at what pressure you set it at. An electric boost controller does the same thing it just does it better plus the Profec B II has a digital display showing the boost your at. I've always been told that it's more safe to run a controller than an amal valve and that there is always less problems with malfunctions. Over all the electric controller is a better option.

Why do You say that the Apexi is not as good as the others?
I did read a test a while back and the Apexi came out better than the ones you regard as better because it has some options the others dont have?

Not a dig!! Only want your opinion

The AVC-R is very pretty and has some nice toys, but we couldn't get a stable boost figure from it. The SBC-ID is simple. Set the boost figure and it makes it and holds it. It doesn't look too bad either.

I reckon the Profec B 2 is pretty good looking. Looks very much like their turbo timer though

So what's this about the Apexi being a bit poo? Is this the one mappable for each gear?

Yes it is mappable for each gear. That is a very good feature and works well, shame it is let down by its shite boost control. However, the Jap boys seem to swear by them.

I think the AVC-R looks good but the simplicity of the Profec B 2 is spot on. Sounds great to use, not too much, but enough control over what's going on

Fair enough, kinda like the Blitz item myself. The HKS unit did not impress anyone in the test though.... But people use them aswell... so it's kinda difficult to choose..
