The boost controller replaces the amal valve and opens the wastgate at what pressure you set it at. An electric boost controller does the same thing it just does it better plus the Profec B II has a digital display showing the boost your at. I've always been told that it's more safe to run a controller than an amal valve and that there is always less problems with malfunctions. Over all the electric controller is a better option.
