long distance relationships
what are your views? known this girl up in stoke (about 170 miles away) for a while, and recently started to get quite close, weve both come out and said how much we like each other, stopped on the way through to see her last friday, went cinema etc and had a great time, id like to take things futher with her but dunno about the distance thing 
im off up there after xmas for a week or so to see my old school mates, will be spending some time with her and speak to her about 'us' but dunno whether its gonan work. i keep thinking the only thing to do is try it, as ill only regret not doing it in 12 months time or something...
what are you lots thoughts and expereinces on the subject?

I started seeing a girl from Liverpool 6 1/2 years ago. 250 mile round trip. Gave it a go and after 9 months she moved down.

Sherry lives 60miles away and i because she's a teacher she's always busy during the week. My shifts have been madness the last year with overtime being offered it was silly not to refuse the extra money. I usually get weekends off so that's the time we spend together with each other. SOmetimes when i've got a day off i go up to her parents stop the night and come home in the morning. We've been together now for 15months
Thing is when we got together she didn't drive so i always drove to see her. If she came down here she caught the train....Now she has passed her test (8th time
) Find it a lot easier to see each other

surprised its so common?!!
i've done 100-140mile long distance relationship for about a year and just had to call it aday. the distance and travel took too much out of my life and left no time for any home time - was probably a contributing factor.
but you guys showing it can pull through fine!!
how do you go on away from families though?
(mind you suppose good in some cases lol)

im surpsied how common it is aswell! and how many people are getting married etc after having a long distance relationship!

Also suppose its quite rare to find someone willing to accept the torment from friends family and people in the street from going out with a 8ft ginger giant!!

I miss my friends and family, but im in touch with them on daily and weekly basis, and go back up North as much as i can

Well Im in Croydon, South London and Nicola is in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex so shes 100 miles away. Its working out for us. I'm planning to move up there next year

Been with Steph for 2years and almost 200miles away from each other. Get about 4-6days a month together if we are lucky normally. Good when i leave though as now got just over 3 weeks off so get some good time together.
We are good and strong even though she does find it hard at times just through missing me, as do I! We where mates for a few years before i had the bottle to ask her out, i think that helps. If you want it enough you can make it work as lots of people on here have shown.
p.s. When i said i finally got the bottle to ask her out! I was 8k miles doing 4 months down the falklands and was 6 weeks in when i phoned and asked her. Well i thought if she tells me to piss off i can just get smashed for the rest of the tour. She didn't thank god, i still did the getting smashed bit but i called it celebrating instead

ive been with a girl who went to uni in kent so was a good 2hour journey to see her. but in the summer wen roads are dry and its late at night comin home, it only took just over an hour lol so wasnt too bad, but personally i would only recommend it if ya quite a independant person and not some1 who needs to be with their loved one often to stop em missing them, otherwise it messes up ya life

see the thing you all seem to miss is the main success of the relationship where one strays is that,,,,,, well the other one dont find out,,,,,,,, cause when they do its then another relationship,,,,, he/she turns into the ex
its not ALWAYS the case but id gladly bet 90% of people who have long tern relationships have another half who do some form of cheating before it became serious,,,,,, as said im negative but ive got ALOT of mates all over the country and i know alot of people,,,,,,,, you would be suprised at the types of people who play !!!!,,,,,,,, alot of ones ive discovered have actually made me real upset too
dont mean to be negative or insult anyone,,,, just being real that if your bloke/bird is 350 miles away,,,,,,,,,,,,, i think alot of people would find it hard to turn down a class but of pussy/dick when you have been together soo little about each other,,,,, remember a relationship is knowing them and how can you know someone whos 100 miles away to see what there like
