Any clues as i've just been asked if my car has one.

its a knob which you use to set boost levels

It's a 10 or 12 position (usually) knob to set the boost level, needs to be mapped for it. Pot' as in potentiometer.

what should you set the wastegate bar to when using this system? lowest on the threads?

Do they only work with Air Injectors?

you set it to half a hole preload normally
you could get it to work with an amal valve but most people use them with air injectors
