You don't say what format the items on the CD are (ie, movie, pics etc) but as long as it isn't DVD-format then the following will work.

Pop the CD in the drive.

Open MY COMPUTER

Right-click the relevant CD-ROM icon and select EXPLORE - a new window will open showing files.

Hightlight all these files (or just the ones you want) and click EDIT on the top of the window, and select COPY

Go to a folder on your hard drive (like in My Documents for example) you want to put them in, and again click EDIT (in the new folder) and click PASTE.

The items will now copy to the new location

Put the cd in, auto startup will bring up a box with the cds contents, drag your mouse over the items to select then click on one and drag the lot to your desktop or whatever, easy, doesnt matter whats on the cd the same applies

Some peoples drives don't autorun tho.... And some autoplay, so you never see the files..... Hence my inital post

also, if it's in DVD format, it will need to be "ripped" rather than copied

vob is a DVD file format either burn it back to disk as a DVD or watch it using something such as VLC (video lan client ) player
to send it to other pc users over the net you would be better off converting it to MPEG or AVI

you can find all the software to convert and instructions on doom9.net
or videohelp.com

Rapid - so if it's a DVD, the files will be VOB as you said. What you need to do is rip it from the DVD into a different format, not the native format. Most people rip to AVI (DivX/XviD) - tho I am not sure if Photobucket accepts AVI files...

The first programme that comes up in a Google serach is this one;

http://www.dvd-ripper.biz/dvd-to-mpeg.htm

This rips the DVD and then converts the files to an MPEG file format.

Gotta be worth a quick d'load to test it out
