it varies depending on how much the item is for sale, should only be a couple of quid i put a jacket on there with reserve of £60 with 1 photo cost me £4, if you pull out early they give you a bad selling name so would make it hard to sell future stuff
god luck

yes - they usually rob you of any profit you've made
proper robbing cunts - your best of not having reserves but start the auction a little higher, it costs you less that way

You have a listing fee which varies depending on what options you choose (a reserve, gallery photo etc)
And then they charge you a % of the final sale price

It is well expensive if you are not careful. I stuck a load of old bits and pieces on there that were too good to chuck. I didnt get much for them and didnt mind the odd pound or two to list but got a bill last month for 35quid. Thats over half of what I made anyway!
Not bloody using it again unless I am going to make a killing.

Ebay is a great way of selling anything providing you understand the rules!
I never put reserves on anything but always put the starting price as the lowest i would take that way no reserve price fees! Also be sensible if there are 5 of what you are selling on there already don't bother as it won't make much! There are 24 pages of dross on there now as compared to when i 1st started using it a year or so ago when there was only 5 or 6 pages of cossie stuff!!! I personaly wouldn't bother using it unless what you are selling is rare/unusual, standard parts are just too common to be worthwhile!

Once you start putting reserves in, you are less likely to sell it than you would be with no reserve, hence ebay charge you for the reserve price. I put my engine reserve on ebay as £3,500 and got charged £35 reserve price. Should the engine have reached £3,500 the £35 reserve would have been credited back to me, but as I ended the auction early they kept the £35 as they have lost out on making any money, again, fair enough

fee's are not expensive though:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/account/fees.html
to do it as cheap as possible though, start your listing fee at 1-99p with no reserve, and if 5 mins from the end your price is way off what you wanted and you dont feel its going to have many last minute bidders (check 'My Ebay' for how many people are 'watching' your item) then cancel all bids and cancel the auction, this way you only lose your 15p-30p listing fee
