Damn fords
driving my car last night and thought that it was a bit noisey.. assumed the exhaust was blowing from the downpipe... couldnt see fuck all when i opened the bonnet though cos it was dark..
anyway just come and started it now and looked at the manifold area.. nothing wrong there.. looked a bit further down on the turbo and notice a fucking nut and stud hanging out of the actual downpipe thats connected to the exhaust.. the bastard has snapped off completely
So im left with a downpipe thats blowing more than a crack whore
after pulling the stud out (it almost fell out) the car now feels like its got about 2 Psi
Whooopy doo. im gonna have to take the whole bloody thing off and try and get the stud out (not easy i expect) to make things harder the turbo is wrapped. so im prob gonna have to get rid of that and spend 50 odd quid on new stuff just for the sake of a 30p stud and a 15p nut

more bad news had to use my car this morning... another fucking stud has just snapped. the downpipe is now hanging off the exhaust housing
Anyone got any bright ideas as to how to remove a stud thats snapped off INSIDE the exhaust housing?

As gaaaables says.... Maybe a drill out & tap job Replace with stainless items & use lockin tabs to hold them in place once torqued correctly. Shoiuld be fine after that.
