Default the LINK cashback scam

Has anyone else signed up for one of these with the LINK?

Me and the mrs both signed up for new contratcs with O2 in the LINK earlier this year. The deal was, half price line rental by means of a cashback offer every so many moths, which basically equated to half your line rental back over 12 months.

The first paymet back time has come, we have to send proof of purchase, along with the 1st and 6th bills with a voucher that we were given when we signed up. This has to be done within 30 days of the 6th bill - which we have done.

Now they are saying that they are the wrong forms, the wrong bills and we have missed the date - how convienent...

so they just had a f00kem email copied to bbc watchdog - its a f00kin insult yo your inteligence - even the bills state 1st and 6th on them( they say we've sent the 2nd and 7th), - t0sseers, wouldnt mind but when your talking over £250 quid back, it IS worth making a stink over IMO. and the next bit i like - we have not sent tham back in the agreed time - what!! within 30 days of the date on the 6th bill - i think so cos they have sent a letter stating that ther are also the wrong forms we have filled in EVEN though they have had all the other paperwork and get this, the vouchers are the ones stapled to our airtime contracts that they give us in the shop when we signed up!! this stinks of a FOOKIN SCAM TO ME!!!

has anyone else had any runnins with this bunch of sh1thouses?

I'd still chase it with the view that if it happens, then it happens but I wouldnt go bursting a vein over it. Its shit when Companys can get away with treating people like this

the one on watchdog was a one man band, this is a major company who insult your inteligence by almost saying you cant even read,

i feel like posting dog sh1t in envelopes to them with no stamps so they have to pay the postage when they arrive - im sure i can get 200+ quid worth of satisfaction from that that'll teach

had a email back from them today (the link) saying that they are sorry but there is nothing they can do .

WTF?!?!

we have sent the right forms, bills and vouchers to the right place in the right time and they are still saying that they are the wrong bills and in the wrong time - FFS if my keyboard had a "smack reader round the head" button for emails, it would be worn out now

what you need is to find the name of the head honcho of "the link"
get the domain name for their e mails ie john.smith@therobbingbastardlink.co.uk and then send an e mail direct to him/her. you would be surprised how fast things happen then as the boss knows that you have a direct way to contact him and wont want the greif.

just an idea, I have used this in the past and got things sorted quickly..
you just need to get the name of somebody high up, I bet somebody on here works for the link and could spill the beans

They do it purposely so it's a complicated as possible, so lots of people miss out. They make you adhere 100% to their terms, if not you lose.

My advise is to sit down for a few minutes once you take on a contract like that and work out exactly what you need to do and write it on a calender, then when you send the paperwork, send it by recorded delivery. That way, they can't wangle out of it.

Another scam is 18 month contracts. We took one on and now 12 months later we would really like new phones, but have been told that we can't until 60 days before the end of the contract. So, if we do that, we will have actually given them 26 months commitment. They know that everyone will want a new phone within 12 months, so it's win-win for them.

Tossers. Everyone is out to scam you, whether its phones or car insurance or whatever.

cunning, more cunning than a fox that's been to cunningham university to study cunning,

will give that a try, cheers,

c&b: we have stuck to their conditions 100% and they have recieved all the paper work as they have sent it back with the excuse that we sent the wrong forms, when in fact we have - fookers!!!

Lots of companies do this. I'm with Mobileshop and they have 4 vouchers over the year and you need to send a specific bill within a tight time window. I am always really careful and send it by recorded delivery so I know exactly when they received it just in case. I've not had any problems yet but I won't be going with them again.

They think that a lot of their customers will be chavy little rat boys who won't remember but it sounds like you've done everthing they asked. Feel sorry for you.
