right story goes like so i leant someone GT4 and not got it back so thought id get me a copy off ebay anyway by the time youve payed for postage and whatnot you merswell just go argos and get a copy

so i did didnt work changed it this afternoon.........this copy dont work either


theyve not changed the format so new games will only run on slimlines have they, and all my other games work fine

anyone got any ideas

It's a game for the wrong region of player? i.e a US or Jap version?

your laser thingy is on its way out, happened to me, got GT4 the day it came out, would not load up, so i took it back, changed it, next day got a Brand new Silmline PS2 for free & it worked

all other games work fine though

ive had the machine a good few years the disc tray squeels coming out and it wont vibrate the controllers now

shud i jus save up n buy a slimline

its your laser mate, as i said, it done it to mine, i had the PS2 a good few years and after a few years the girl gave up, still played most games mind, just not Games like GT4

i rember the ps1 had to be turned upsidown for the motor to work

you can buy replacement laser units easy enough from ebay etc.

yeah seen them, how easy to do it yourself though?

I had the same problem.... Only with GT4 aswell.

Took apart me PS2, cleaned the laser lense and all was well again
