Default getting my faith back in cossies

after selling my rs500 i decided to go out and try a few jap cars as i had had my head in the ford sand for so long i hadnt driven any for ages.

i bought an impreza sti which was fun, loud, looked great...but not something i would want to keep.
then got an evo 4-great for a standard car,quick,quiet,tight-good fun,but again it didnt last long.

in the meantime i also had a couple of 2wd cossies and in comparison they drove shit compared to the jap stuff.

got a black 3 door last week which drove ok,but it went as i didnt really want to keep another black 3 door!

almost bought an sti 2 door yesterday, but last night i went and done a deal with my range rover on a sapphire cosworth(off here),and wow, what a car this one is.its a 4x4 which i dont normally like but the car just drives so well-its a pleasure to be in it unlike a lot of them!its clearly been well looked after just by looking at it,but the whole package just feels great-not the fastest thing in the world, but just a nice well set up cossie....

its nice enough to stop me going to buy the impreza today!

may even keep this one for a bit..........
just shows there are still some very good cars out there still...

Default cossies

Its very hard to break the habit of cosworths, certainly for me they are well imbeded in my character rebel nostalgia

thought of parting with mine for a newer car, everybody close to me says don't do it, you'll end up going out and getting another one and starting all over again

glad you've found a nice 1 enjoy

i know what you mean. my german ring taxi just drives lovely. only stage one and on std alloys and bilstein dampers witha front strut brace but it just drives so nicely.

i have rebuilt the engine and gearbox and replaced most suspension bushes and had the geometry setup though, which all makes a massive difference to making it feel like a new car again

you could be right!

but i dont want to spend 10k at the mo otherwise i would prob have an evo 6/7.im sticking to stuff circa 5k and that only buys an evo 4/impreza which imop arent as good as this 4x4 cossie.
still got the skyline curiousity bug though!although i drove a supposed quick skyline 2.5 gts-t yesterday and it was shit!

Glad you like it Jay, it was fun while it lasted, I'll have another one before long, just don't listen to our lass, I'll never plough the money into an escos, too much initial outlass, pluss I'm one of the few that seems to like the way a saff looks
Haven't been out in the'tank' yet, can't get Dawn out of it

ive been nearly the same mate sold my s2 after havin it for 10years but it had to go..you now the normal stuff rust and rot and needing a full engine rebuild, anyway after lookin at all the cars on the market the only real car was the EVO , nearly 300bhp as standard and a fantastic pedigree i got my self a EVO3 and was not disapointed at all, does what it says on the can but since iv had it iv had to ..put a new turbo on it new head , 16 valves, cambelt and belt tensioner, new idle control valve, plugs oil the fookin lot mate i very nearly sold it but now it drives and goes like a new car, it was once said to me by a guy on MLR that the evo engine is very ..fragile.. and hes very right the only car i realy cant take to is the scoobs.. just horrible mate thay sound horrid look horrid and or just horrible no style or anything and cheap as chips and takes 2 hours to change a plug..
