Default Does anybody else agree with Mike Newell?

I'm probably certain to get lambasted for pledging my support, but I totally back him up on what he said. Female officials have no place in the men's game.

Now, before you ladies savage me, it's not because I don't think female officials are up to the job, but I don't believe most players will respect them. It's very much a lads culture and most players will view these women as outsiders and people who shouldn't be there, and in turn they won't respect their decisions etc. It's hard enough getting some of them to respect male officials' decisions!

So no, for me it should be male officials only in the men's game.

Thoughts?

SEXIST CUNT

the only reason women shouldnt be involved is cos they cant understand the offside rule, but then, as most male linesmen cant, then fuck it, lets have a free for all!

So you're saying these players do respect them?

I honestly don't believe it. Actually I KNEW you would reply against what I'd said though, Kop

You said it yourself in your first post..... it's hard enough to get players respect male officials, so what's the difference?

There are only 2 reasons that men referee womens football. Think bouncy bouncy and tight shorts

maybe so, but then one users argument of men refereeing mens football should also logically apply to women refereeing womens football.

Now don't forget, I haven't said they can't do the job.

I would be happy to see women only as refs etc for women's games and men for men's games, just so it works both ways.

Most men get told what to do by a woman enough at home

This ignorance and prejudice is staggering.
If the person has the qualifications.... what on earth does gender have to do with the ability to officiate a football match?

Hell... next time Newell might start to have a go at officials because they're black!

I hope the FA severely lambast him for it.

Dont worry, i think after his recent outburts against his chairman, i doubt he'd be in a position to abuse many, except from the terraces

To be fair I didn't think she was even that bad, I've seen alot worse male linesman's thats for sure.

But she did give QPR two corners that were deffo Goal Kicks which QPR scored from so I guess thats what pissed him off. It was at the other end of the ground to me so couldn't really tell.

Anyway, cant believe what he came out with after the game. Looks like hes getting the sack at 4pm. We might as well be relegated now

It doesn't make any difference on your ability to make decisions because of your age, sex, race etc. It should be your ability to intepret the rules correctly. I hate political correctness, but should someone be excluded from officiating because of their sex or race?

I have seen some disgraceful decisions made by linesmen and refs impersonating Stevie Wonder, some were complete howlers.
