Default anyone know about potterton suprima boilers help !

boiler is a potterton suprima 40
the hot water works fine boiler fires etc its just when i put the switch for the central heating on nothing happerns
the green light on the boiler doesnt even come on (all rads stay cold) so i talked to some people at potterton and they said its deff not the boiler it must be the stat or programmer but ive changed both of those and still no joy, so now im thinking it may be the pcb,
theres a guy on ebay that does these as a part ex basis for £45 which i beleave is cheap.
some one i spoke to said something about a valve but im not sure

anyone got any suggestions

was it a 'diverter valve' someone mentioned?? they usually go at this time of year when people have not used the heating since last winter.

There is a little ball inside that moves to switch over from hot water to heating and vice versa. A lesson to be learned it to switch you heating on once a week for a hour through the summer.

Try to run a hot tap flick, the heating on, switch the boiler off ect. to see if you can free it off, if not drop me a PM

you need to find out what kind of system you have?
go find your hot water cylinder and look for small blue or white boxes on the pipes...these are the control valves..

let me know what you find

my help was assuming that the boiler is a combi, sorry if i am wrong

on a system boiler setup the Zone valves are not really that expensive and some can be re-built without draining the system down

suprimas are not combi's

it will more than likely be a prob with a zone valve.

most suprimas i have seen are ontot a mid postion valve.
