Default Central Heating help

Ok my boiler blew a board so I have swapped it and I now have hot water again but the pressure gauge is low (I guess caused by using the stsyem when busted) so how do I get the gauge up do I need to bleed the rads if so how

Boiler is a Potterton Puma 80e Combi

you need to charge the system again should be some knobs below the boiler to do this

you need to find your filling loop(usually a flexy braided hose with a small tap or two on it)
then fill the system till the gauge reads 1.5

the filling loop will be connected between a 22mm pipe and a 15mm pipe
and it should be close to the boiler usually directly underneath but depends who fitted it and when youve done that make sure the tap(s)you have opened are closed again properly

red and blue taps dont move

but I found a black one which sounded like it put in water and Im now boosting on 1.5bar

The water when the pressure is low seem to pulse hot and then colder could this be caused by the lack or pressure

thanks people top advice

the filling loop i described wont be connected to the actual boiler it should be just underneath on the connecting pipework usually about 10" or so below

if your hot water out the tap plays up when the pressure is low then that may be the cause BUT if it carries on doing it at normal pressure ( say 1.5 bar) then youve got a problem......you better call the A TEAM...lol

1.5 when the boiler is cold is fine , should rise to 2 when youve had the heating on for a bit

Throw the combi in a skip and buy a proper boiler with a hot water tank Plumbers don't tend to have combi boilers and that has to be a good reason not to bother.
