Default RST/ Cossie Amal Valve + hesitating problem!!!!

are they different? when i got the car it didnt have an amal valve on but a bleed valve, so replaced it with a Cossie amal valve as had one lying about, are they the same?

got a bit of a problem with the car really badly hesitating when it comes on boost, turned the boost right down, its now at 10psi and as soon as it comes to 1psi its holding back like your trying to drive with your foot on the brake cant accelerate at all, but then sometimes it will go to about 4-5 psi before giving up hope

the car had a weak actuator when we got it so changed the actuator, borrowed a Cossie one off our mate and its wound as far down as it will go but still seems to be hesitating, funny thing is it doesnt actually shut off like you'd expect when it boosts it just really hesitates

really want it sorting as ive had enough of the car already and only had it just over a month... want my golf back

any ideas what could cause hesitating?

Have you checked if the boost hose is possibly collapsing under load? If it's an old original one it could be that

Agree with Stoo
But then again When I had that problem it was only under real boost. And yours doesnt. Maybe a leak. Check the hose clips and t-piece's for vacuum leaks etc

If your running a zvh do 10 degrees. Mine was bit lumpy at 12. Runs sweet as on 10

how am i supposed to check the pipe on full load, i cant hang under the bonnet while giving it some

its only a CVH not ZVH,

have noticed though that sometimes it doesnt hesitate when you put your toe down a bit, but its still really hesitating, feels very strange!!!

had 2 people we know check the timing and both said it was fine, what do you mean by base timing?

another thing ive also noticed is that when its on boost there seems to be an awful lot of suction and no "go" its sort of like sucks a load of air in and then lets it out BEFORE it dumps off, doesnt sound healthy though

Have you tried removing the dump valve?

Your cam timing is spot on but we need a timing light to check the ignition timing.

Is it the same hesitation that dicko showed me that day round rob's

Bri.

do you mean air from the dump valve or air intake.

I'll re-phrase what I said. I meant listen out for leaks under the bonnet like from t-pieces etc. If you put your ear next to it you will hear any kind of hissing

Unplug the knock sensor for a start.

See if it still does it.
