Any bar in Temple Bar will be full today, mostly tourists but full of life. For tonight you could try Cafe Enseine or Ron Blacks on Dawson St,full of monied people.Or Howl At The Moon on Mount St,Dublins 1st late bar and still packing them in.Or for a nightclub try Copper Face Jacks on Harcourt St,always full to the rafters and known as "Slappers" by everyone due to the nature of 50% of the easy/up for it girls there!!For food today theres Captain America's on Grafton St,been there 30 yrs and do the best burgers and beer in town.Hope that helps, regards,Micky

@ Tall Geezer,if youre a smoker then the Bleeding Horse on Camden St. is the only bar that has a tv in its smoking area.So you can watch the football and smoke at the same time. The area is sheltered from the rain and heated too!!!Chelsea play at 12.45pm today!!Regards,Micky

No problem.Once youre in town get a map of the city for free in the Tourist Office on Suffock St,will help you get around.Youre hotel may have them in reception. If youre going to Bleeding Horse,Slappers or Howl at the moon get a taxi to them from the city center. Will cost €7 or €8 and save you walking!!!Any questions ,just ask me,Micky

Will do mate, thanks again! Anything else you think of later or whatever just post it up, I'll be on again for a bit at this rate by the look of it. Still - the views are pretty good in the hotel if you know what I mean!

I did Dublin for a stag weekend earlier this year. To be honest I though it was overpriced (spent Ł180 on drink in one night on myself alone! €15 for a vodka and coke was the standard price) and overcrowded, pushing in as much as you could still took 20 mins of queing to get served. Then in the actual Temple Bar itself it was so hot you couldnt move and everyone was wet through with sweat...

Still had a good time but it would have been more fun pretty much anywhere else

@ Phil,I have to agree that Dublin is dearer than alot of places in Britian, except maybe London. With our booming Celtic Tiger ecconomy everyone is in full time employment, loads of non-nationals are working here too and generally the people have plenty of money. This transfers to barmen etc etc who get well paid too and this results in dear drink.Well to tourists its dear,to us Irish its just the price we have to pay.At 11 pm tonight people in Ireland wont care how much the drink is as long as they get served!!!Regards,Micky

Micky - I had a wicked night out mate, thanks for all the info! Those burgers were the bollocks at Capt America's, I had a half pounder - they virtually had to roll me out of the place. They're massive!
Then had a wander about - and hit the bars you mentioned, well worth it! I'm here on my own as I'm doing some work today in Santry but it didn't matter, all the locals were very friendly - one more than others I don't think I stood alone longer than a couple of minutes in each bar to be honest! I'll be back here again on a full weekend session I think - great town!
