mine has a habbit freezing at time and then NO pc can get the net


its anoying as i use the laptop in bed and i have to go down stairs and rejoin the fucking thing to a network then go back to bed


but then the thought of running a fucking wire upstairs and being stuck in 1 location,,,,,,, it makes it seem minor tbh

I have no probs jake, havent rebooted my router in months.

As for port forwarding, put the IP address your machine gets into the DMZ. There should be a section for that.

i use the homehub,it sometimes disconnects,but thats the actual internet going into the hub (as i have a pc hardwired in to it too and it also loses connection occasionally) but other than that it doesnt let me down

My wireless router is spot on, never had a problem with it since I plugged it in! fast too. . which I was told it wouldnt be, but then my neighbour across and down the road can pick up the signal

My D - Link router is fine.

What I did realise previously is that if you install the D-link software then XP seems to fight for the connections causing it to drop.

I un-installed my old Netgear router software and ran the XP own one and never had a problem...

are you using wireless phones????

and bluetooth???


try using channel 1 or 2 on the router (wireless) settings

Yeh let XP do its own wireless thing and dont use the dlink wireless manager.

I'll pop over and have a look one of the days after work m8

That Stu would be very much appreciated- it does seem to have a spack attack when a phone goes off in the house or the lanline rings

funny u should do this post mate coz ever since we've had this adsl modem put on the other day its causing me problems. we got it so i can be on net down here and my sister can be upstairs on her lap top, but every so often it keeps causing the pc to lose its connection. really pisses me off
