Default Turboing a Zetec - is it expensive and headache

Just wondering as everyone seems to be banging on about Zetec Turbos how cheap are they.

I know you can get good power from them but you will still need to go lo comp with a decent head gasket, etc so the mods are not that much different to cossie mods. If that is the case surely it cant be that cheap

sooooooooooooo many variations

you can do it on the cheap with a decomp plate and see 250bhp

or fit c20let pistons to the std rods and slight over bore

or do what i done and get pistons and rods made for the engine, have roller barrel tb's and a tubular manifold made up etc etc

mine is £7k and counting

it all depends on what power you are aiming for

pm bassboy hes just built a BIG SPEC zetec he will tell you the cost's if he brave enough

cool guys.

7k - would you not getting better results at spending 7k on a cossie engine - tried, tested and all that bollocks.

Just an idea at mo.

ok ill price it up and see what i get lol

Block - paid £120 for it
0.5mm over bore, crank polish deck skim - £150
Specialised engines big valve stg 3 head - £1000
Piper cam kit with custom cosworth BD10 grind (inc tappets, valve springs) - £658
Piper vernier pullys - £192
titan motorsoprt roller barrel throttles - £1000
Primary designs tubular manifold and system - £1500 (est)
650cc injectors - £150
head gasket, other gaskets, bolts, cam belt kit and lubes - £500
1 off flywheel - £100 (going in RWD and T5 gearbox)
T35 turbo - £400
i already have a SECS S8 so will use that

still need all fuel system, pumps tanks etc

ok thats only £5770 so far but im sure ive missed stuff out

oh yeah, still need to get a plenum made up for the r/b's, get an intercooler, mapping etc etc - £????
