Default CSA

Anyone here pay CSA or know about it and able to offer any advice?

What it is is I split up with her January 05 and we agreed custody and payment etc but for the last 12 or so months I've only been seeing my son once a month instead of the every other weekend we had agreed despite me paying on time every month.

For the first 8 months I was paying £100 support and £250 towards the mortgage, she then took over the house with her new fella and since then I have payed her £50 a week for one child.Working the money out I have payed is £2986 for support and £2500 for the mortgage plus £800 for an overdraft on a joint bank account meaning I've payed nearly £6300 in 18 months which is surely too much isnt it

So after all that this month I payed her half the money explaining about the situation with the access and saying I've been paying too much and shes come back saying about going to the CSA and getting more money.now I dont have a problem paying for my son but what I do have a problem is paying £350 a month which is basically paying her mortgage.

Now to the point if she goes to the CSA do they take into account my current financial outgoing ie loans etc and do they take into account any money already paid to her even if it is too much

Finally whats the next step regarding access? Ive been told you get a solicitor each to try and sort out access before it goes to court

Any help would be great if you can be arsed reading it as its doing my fucking nut in

Goodluck with it all mate hope you get it sorted.

1 word - cunts

they wont take into account loans etc etc as far as i know. 15% of gross wages.

I hope you can prove you've been paying that money or she can deny it and your fucked.

beleive me mate, they're useless twats. I was paying money to my ex but they still kept on and on abut me owing them money. i rang up and explained 4 TIMES id paid her money and was unemployed for a certain period and they told me they sort it EVERY TIME but then i still got letters demanding money. Ended up getting a fucking ccj against my name because i refused to pay them. eventually my ex wrote to them and touch wood I havent heard anything since.

try and agree a fair amount with your ex then get her to write to them or you do it and then hopefully you dont have to deal with them again

hope it works out for you...

from my experience i hate to say they dont care about your outgoings or what you have already paid, i was doing same asyou and paying her direct for my kids, then got a phone call out of blue one day saying this is csa we basically want money for your 2 kids i explained i already pay her, they just said well we are involved now we will assess your income and get back to me how much i need to pay, its up to me wether i still give her money too aswell as the bit they will take, i was lucky though as i was working through a composite company so where i was earning£5-£600 a week, on paper i was only arning about£150 so they said i had to pay £28 a week, backfired on her big time as i was already paying more

cheers JAP CRAP Ive been paying her using internet banking so I have no problem proving it thing is she wont budge on the amount saying its what we agreed but then wont stick to her side-double standards

se mk3- working it out on the website I should only be paying £36 a week, only thing is Im worried it will back fire on me as I have heard some horror stories about Men paying nearly half their wages a week as I say I want to pay but dont see why I should pay on average £350 a month

thanks for your experiences tho

Legal advice..more than anything it shows the ex you are serious as if she is used to living on your money she'll not be best pleased you've decided to use it yourself (hence csa related threat)...

Make sure you have documentary evidence that you've paid her mortgage/deposits to her bank account or whatever it was or you might get charged backpay...*edit* doh didn't see your post above about internet transfers before I posted this!*

Plus with regards to access it's best to get it settled out of court to avoid costs/trauma & stress to the child...so solicitors usually act as go-betweens for this..for no other reason than that they know where their client stands legally and theres less ''well you said'' bollocks you get with ex couples.

This really fucks me off. You are getting screwed senseless, seemingly unfairly, whereas the father of Beccy's little girl has paid an amount of money that doesn't even amount to £100 in the entire 12 years of her life.

As soon as they get through all their red-tape and actually finally get in touch with the useless waste-of-breath, he just jacks his job in.

The CSA absolutely suck as far as I am concerned. Infact, haven't they just about gone now?

I'm in the exact same boat. As soon as the CSA catch up with the useless cunt father of my step son he chucks in his job. When they split up he jacked in a high paying job and went on the dole so he didnt have to pay anything
I think they do take into account out goings though? Cos at the last assessment last year he claimed he was living in a flat and had hardly any money. It looked to us like he was claiming to pay all the bills when infact it was halfers just so that he didnt have to pay csa

My mrs is due £000's!

So pattozs good luck to you sir!

sorry if it's already been said, but if you go on the website, you can work out what the minimum you should be paying based on your yearly income.

http://www.csa.gov.uk/new/calculate/

My girlfriend has contacted them about her X not paying his way for her boy and they've done absolutely fook all, useless c*nts.

hope you've kept a record of EVERY payment made, this may help the CSA figure out that you have actually been paying as if its jus cash in her hand she could easily say you've paid nothing

I am quite up to speed with this and advise you to go to the CSA YOURSELF. They allow you certain things, and dissallow others but unless you earn a LOT of money you will NOT be paying what you pay now mate, i am confident of that much.

Biggest advice i can give you, and i know its been covered, but ENSURE you can prove every payment you have ever made pal, dont EVER pay cash as they couldnt give a flying fuck what you tell them, or even what she tells them, they will hammer you for back pay to the penny. Yes, been there, done that.

I recall their new website was pretty damn usefull, allowing you to work it out yourself using the exact software they wil use, it was certainly accutae for my own claim, so i think its worth an hour on, just ensure your thorogh with your numbers and dont guess anything.

Best of luck pal.

A mate of mine had a very similar situation to yours and his ex got greedy and took him to CSA saying he wasn't paying enough...... they cut her payments by nearly half when it was worked out....

Correct me if I might be wrong, but wasn't it said a few months back on the news that the CSA was being disbanded as it wasn't working and some other method was being put in place?

Its not just Women that screw you over.

My sister got pregnant at 15 to what seemed like a nice lad (at the time) even though he was 23 (my Dad left him alone for some reason) he was in the army , had a good wage and a level head. He promised us all he would see my sister right and not do his daughter any wrong / harm.

Shortly after my neice was born (couple of months i think) my sister called it a day with him because he turned out to be a tosser that could not keep his willy in his pants for 2 minutes.

Now my neice is 10 and my sister has not had a single penny of him in child support all because he moved to Ireland with the Army and the CSA (useless twats) cant find him and even if they did because he supposedly lives over there they cant touch him.

If i ever find the cunt im gonna rip his head off then put it in a box and post it to the CSA with a note saying "Found him".

For everyone elses benefiots, what happens here is:

IF your partner is claiming benefits and is then awarded support from you, teh state will claim that support, quite rightly so, as an income. So lets look at teh 2 scenario's.

1) lady earns £300 a week. No benefits.
Your paying her £50 a week too, and the CSA pay all the £50 to her.

2) lady earns £100 a week and gets £200 in benefits.
Your paying her £50 a week too, but the CSA give it straight back to teh benefits agency. Essentially, the government decides how much she has to live on and any extra money coming in is given back to keep it fair.

Its the same as them giving it to her and her benefits being reduced by £50. Its just simpler thats all.

So make sure any EX';s know that if they are on benefits they will get virtually fook all by taking you to teh CSA and are likely to end up worse of than if you have a mutual agreement.

Hope that helps people.

CSA are shite.

finally got my father to agree to pay £120 a month, was all going good, then a few years back, he lost his job, so couldnt pay....

to this day, he owes the CSA around 4k,

and no one will tell me where my dad is either, all that was told to me by his best mate, whos my godfather, that 'hes done a runner'

for the past 3 years the CSA have been sending letters to my mum saying that he hasnt paid even through 3 warnings so the bailiffs will go round.....

then the next letter always seems to be 'he isnt responding to any letters of people knocking at his door, we are going to take him to court'

I just want him to be put away lol

point is... CSA are useless and never do what they say they will

I been paying my ex cash in hand, which she agreed with and even told the CSA 2 years ago that she is happy with what I pay her. 2 months ago (bearing in mind this is 2 years ago) I get a letter saying they want me to pay them whether I pay her or not. I phoned them and they have said its a new company and they are doing things differently. They have even asked me to backdate it as they say I have never payed anything.

She has also phoned them and agreed that she has been receiving the money. Anyway didnt bother after that, just ignored it. Get my payslip and bang 230 knicker gone to CSA. Bastards. She received a 100 giro. Wheres the rest I ask???? Back payments
