Default Big thanks to Alan, Colin and all the AVA team

after my lower power run at the RS owners club rolling road day were my car made "only" 356 ATW i have been back at AVA yesterday for a bit of investigation work and to regain my lost BHP.

after spending all day fixing the leaking exhaust manifold and inspecting the turbo the car was ran again and made 385 ATW even with the SM4 retarding the igniton due to charge temp issues, so looks like power was back

we didnt stop there tho

we started to play with the cam timing for the first time since mark mapped the car last year.

with excellent results the mid range is now up almost 70 bhp at one point with max boost arriving almost 500 rpm sooner and peak power of just over 400 ATW made at 8K now

we actually have so much more power thru the mid range that the car now needs remapped to suit as the part thottles are wa out and its starting to lean out over 6k.

to say i jumped when the car burst intowheel spin in 4th gear on the rollers was an understament and hearing it hit the limiter a 8k was mental!

the car is booked in next week for a final mapping session and we expect more to come from playing with the advance.

cant wait til next week now, just hope the gearbox doesnt break

will keep you all updated with final figs when i get them.

Car now sounds like a cammed up pinto now

gt my graph scanned in for the power run after the remap and cams timed in..

after struggling with some temperature issues on the rollers we finally managed to get some results.

looking at them and comparing to other graphs AVA have stored in the RR computer showed that my boost comes in quicker than a T38 not bad for and old T4

We now have more power in every part of the graph even th the run on thursday was with 15 deg higher inlet temps.
the car is booked in next week for a proper mans exhaust system(no 2.5 " pipes here )

will be 4" down pipe into a twin 3" system which will after some testing looks like it will free up to another 30 bhp ATW at 8K!

we are looking for 440 ATW ish

that puts me less than 40 bhp away from a recent harvey 650 car than made 484 on AVA rollers, wonder what mine would make on a dyno??

anyway enough talk...heres the graph...
it only shows power at the moment and the thin line is my run after mark mapped it and before the cams were timed in.

heres a clearer link

Mark mapping it or AVA?

Also why you have ACT problems, inter too small, or AVA's fans too small?

ollie..sorry mate thought it was a 650 engine...ah well 612 aint too bad

not seen you for ages...will take you for a run in it next cruise nite

fiesta cossie...it has been re mapped by alan at AVA now.

the temp issues are a combination of the intercooler and the fans..
we are going to to some testing on the road to see what the charge is like, should be lower on the road.

Nice power. Peak power at 8000rpm (cant think of many cossies that peak that high).

With 235/40/17's and peak power as high, your car should pull a very high topspeed.
