my diff sounds like its being mudered,

it even making a noise in neutral coasting!!!

is this deffo the diff that has gone?

saying that, it could be a really fucked wheel bearing

 

it was diagnosed by an independant bmw specialist that it was diff last fri!!

it was ratlling and banging, now its thumping hard every so often and rattling alot, can this cause more damagE?

what is the banging on the floor?

also, it makes a noise underload, but goes ape shit when not under load

and could it be a driveshaft on the way out instead?

see i think its the prop, cuz something is banging, what i dont want is i get diff for the guy to fit when it dont really need one, and for him to say oh yeah this is fooked aswell now etc etc, fed up of being ripped off

i have a diff in the garage,it has just started making a noise when you pull away (fastish) if you drive normally it is fine,i had it on for a couple of weeks like this,and was ok...

all depends on how you drive i suppose as to wether its worth you farting about putting it on...
