Default ladders - advice appreciated

looking to buy a ladder to do jobs about the house. they're not cheap, so only want to buy once. so i would appreciate any advice please

was looking in b&q at folding ones that can double up as platforms that might be useful for trimming hedges etc. but would like one that can go in the back of a small car (honda civc), but is also long enough to reach up to guttering on a normal 2 storey semi-detached house for jobs like that. ones like this, but they only go up to about 11' something and i'm not sure that's high enough:

or 3 piece ones that go a bit higher like this, that went up to about 14' but are longer when folded down to a minimum:

how about the telescopic ones like this. anyone think that they'e any good?

thanks for any help

Just buy a roof rack and get a good double ladder

You wont get a good ladder that will reach that high AND fold that small

not that easy tiff.

my girlfriend works for honda and gets a new car every 6 months, so we'd be constantly shelling out for new roof racks.

besides, her current civic has a panoramic glass roof. could be a bit dodgy.

and i have a fiesta, so am limited on anything too long on that.

i might wait to buy one until we move house in the next month or so and have a van on hire, and then we could get a good long one.

but a long one like you're suggesting does not have the ability to stand on it's own, or fold to a platform for trimming the hedge or whatever.

the little retracting ones are class

just make sure you have one that goes all the way up to where you want it to go to, and then just carry it like a small bag when you are finished
