Microsoft outlook when i double click to open the aplication keeps trying to open an old backup folder that i made about 6months ago,does anyone know where it should be looking to find my e-mail as normal ???
As it just shuts down when i cancel the path to the back up folder.

 

Open Control panel, there should be an icon for Mail, open this and you can edit the profile information that Outlook uses. Change the patch to point to the folder you want to open.

Or, another way just remembered, right click the Outlook desktop icon and choose Properties.
