Default Plasma/LCD wall mounting brackets help

Hi all

I have seen a few plasma/lcd wall mounted setups in threads and need to get one put up in my place.

Does anyone have any advice on putting the bracket up so it holds the TV? Its about a 26" TV so not massive but still a fair weight.

Any pics, tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Piece of Piss mate.

1. Get Yellow Pages
2. Find 'TV and Aerial Fitters'
3. Pay them to put it on the wall!

Seriously, I got a 37" put on the Chimney Breast in my daughters bedroom (shes only 3 month old) and if you saw the big fucking fittings he put into the wall it would probably scare u off ever attempting it.

I had loads of work done at the same time (cables under floorboards, walls chased, Sky+ installed etc., but the bloke quoted me Ł70 just to mount the TV (including bracket, which considering Currys want over Ł40 for the bracket I thought was a belting deal, and all work is gauranteed!

Make sure u do all the labour beforehand though mate. I had a plugpoint installed in the middle of the Chimney Breast before he came and I pulled up floorboards. If u need walls chasing then d it yourself with a bolster chisel or similar and run all the cables so he just has to come and whack the bracket up. Dont be to precise with the cabling though and dont plaster the chase till hes been as brackets vary in size and spec.

Its the best thing ive ever done mate to be honest, ive got my XBox 360 hidden in the cupboard and u can see nothing at all except the telly (ill have to get pics done), everything is hidden, and the baby gets so much attention from me because im never out of her bedroom!!!

No mate, they dont come with any sender. U buy a magic eye for anywhere between Ł20 and Ł70 which transmits the signal to the Sky box. My plasma has a glass panel on the bottom and the eye is hidden behind that. Sky do a one too but it is fucking MAHOOSIVE, about the size of a 50p piece. Mine cost Ł40 and is about the size of a 5p bit.

works with anything mate, but it still needs chasing into the wall and cables hiding. Basically if you want to mount a Plasma be prepared to decorate. All the eye does is allow you to turn the TV over while the box is hidden away. U still need a power supply for TV and a direct connection buried into wall.

Im off to bed but ill get some pics of my setup tomorrow, basically I have one cupboard that has all my Sky, modem, Xbox etc for upstairs and then magic eyes to send the remote signals to each.

Diesel2000 - Thanks mate and defo pics would be great

I would need to run a power cable and probably DVD cables down from the TV so was thinking of putting a pipe type thing on the wall vertically below the TV then running the cables under the carpet with the DVD player under the bed. Only reason I am not sure about chiselling the wall out is I live in an apartment

Appreciate the advice
