The soak-away will be for the condensing boiler drain.

a top notch condensing combi will only cost you just over 1k, so there is some serious profit in that quote

The thing with British Gas is that they will quote you a mega amount......

Then sub-contract it out to a normal plumber that you will find in the Yellow Pages for instance.

Get a few different quotes from different people.

For a new combi boiler, 7 rads and all pipework ect...done and dusted i charge around £2500 or there abouts........

Should take about 2 days or so

yeh kind of a leak off, our current boiler doesnt need one , we have a soak away already in the garden under the patio but he said to run a pipe there wouldnt be steap enough for the flow which i think is bull**** talk

they say you should run condensing in to a soak away because of the sulfer(i think) that it will produce and it is harmful, but there is a percenage of places where this cant be done and i have seen them run in to kitchen sinks or to normal waste outlets ect, if you cheak with corgi you should have no problems doing this, sounds like they were just trying to make more money out of you digging a new soak away!
