we saw the helicopter on its way into leeds last night

hope he makes a full recovery but unsure if he would return to top gear

`significant brain injury` not brain damage for sure yet may just have a slight swelling of the brain hope he recovers

The BBC have updated their news with more details but nothing specific to his injury, they do however say Clarkson and May have been to visit him today and have quoted.........

"Referring to Hammond by his nickname, Clarkson said: "Both James and I are looking forward to getting our 'hamster' back." "

I hope this means there is hope for recovery from his injurys?

I certainly hope you are right!!! SKY do come out with some crap on breaking news sometimes.

From my understanding though... Brain Tissue doesn't recover. Once injured thats it...

brain scan indicates no internal bleeding of the brain which is a good thing. he is considered serious but stable.

news programmes are a pain in the butt when it comes to things like this im waiting to see if a doctor makes a statement then il believe it if hes serious or not. im just gonna pray that he makes it back

His wife has requested that no further details on his condition be released to the press so its unlikely the Doctors will say anything official until he's 100% on the road to recovery................ i'm not sure if thats means its a good thing or a bad thing that the details haven't been released
