Default Cossie Oil Pressure Switch thread size?

Does anybody know the thread spec of the oil pressure switch?

Even better, does anyone know if I can fit my Defi pressure sensor directly to the block?

I don't like the thought of high-pressure oil being subjected to any more joints than necessary - especially given my oil leak issues here

Plus access to the oil filter is a total pain in the arse at the moment - the T piece is too long so the oil pressure switch wiring is against the oil filter!

Cheers!

Neil.

The Defi pressure sensor is 1/8 NPT. I think the oil pressure switch is 3/8 NPT iirc. The best bet is to use a set up like mine as it means you can also fit an oil temp sensor as well

Hi Neil

Got it off ebay mate from this ebay shop

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/RaidPerform...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

The one to fit a Ford isn't listed at the moment The Ford one is listed as 3/4 A/F as opposed to M18/M20.

Only took a few days for delivery as well

Im afraid not, its already fitted to my car.

Thread size is the same conical one as the oil pressure switch. The end that goes into the block is a straight fit.

Right, I've discovered that the leak is coming from my oil pressure switch. I pressure tested it with a length of hose and a footpump

That explains how there was so much oil about in such a short period of time!

So now I'm looking for a neater solution than the T Piece I already have.

I like the look of the Raid plate, but they need to know the thread of a cossie oil filter, and say that the take-offs are 1/8" NPT - defi sensors are 1/8" PT - are the two close enough to be considered compatible?

Cheers!

Neil this is what i've cut and pasted from my ebay invoice

RaidHP.co.uk
Ebays Performance & Styling Powersellers

Raid Hp 52mm Oil Pressure + Temperature Gauge Adaptor

3/4 AF X -16 Thread
Anodised Finish
Adaptors Come With 4 Connection Slots For Sensors Allowing Multiple Combination Connections
Comes With Blanking Screws (18 npt Or 10mm) To Blank Off Unused Connection Slots
This Adaptor allows both Gauges to be connected safely and effortlessly.

Remove Oil Filter And Allow Oil To Drain
Screw In Raid Hp Adpator Plate
Then Screw Oil Filter On To Raid Hp Adpator Plate
Wire Into The Raid Hp Adaptor Plate The Relevant Gauges And Blank Off Unused Connections
Refill Oil

Mine has 2 x Defi sensors fitted ( oil pressure and oil temp ). They are 1/8 NPT thread like the take offs in the adaptor plate Put some PTFE tape on when i fitted them and have had no leaks

When you buy one ask for one with 1/8 NPT take offs.

Cheers fella - they list them on their website (not the ebay shop).

I'll email them and see how it works out - I was just a little concerned that PT and NPT would not be compatible - sure I read that the Defi sensor was PT not NPT

Thanks again!
