thats what i thought about turboing the 1800 on standard compression good for about 10psi
on the insurance shouldnt be to bad as im 25 in nov with full no claims (touch wood)
on everday i have used my series 1 for 3 years and my current series 2 for about 6 months
not sure on what to do ill miss the turbo buzz but the rs 1800 was rapid

Either way you'll end up with a smashing wee motor

I'd drop the turbo'd cvh in. Only saying that because I have got a CVH turbo in mine

Easy solution for you here mate.

Instead of using the downpipe and elbow from your S1, use a saab turbine housing as the wastegate is then on a flat plate rather than inside the elbow.

then take the car down your local custom exhaust place and have them make you a downpipe that clears the crossmember. I used the escort t3 and had to cut the crossmember

Won't be doing it next time though. Saab T3 all the way. Infact the cossie T3 may also have a flat wastegate rather than in the elbow.

Makes better sense dude.

The man speaks fine words, or if you dont want to turbo the zetec why not use a super charger ?

You could get a fiasco centre tank, but they tend to leak around the area where they cut them to fit the plastic swirl pot.

If I were you I'd buy a small fuel pump, a facet red top or something, and get an external swirl pot. Put em in the boot it'll work sooooo much better and will give no fuelling issues whatever boost you run.

Saying that, the standard tank is fine as long as it's more than 1/2 tank. Anything less than that and you get fuel starvation on left hand bends

CVH Turbo, Almost a straight swap...

Less hassle than piss facing about turboing the zetec, Or trying to fit the Zetec

Keep it to about 180/200bhp and it'll fly!

i think i would go for the zetec option and turbo that....but im biased....

however, if you want the simplest installation im guessing the turbo route would be a good choice...if you want something different, howabout a zetec turbo, zetec on carbs/TB's?
