Default Strange noise changing down gears ....

Car is not causing any problems, no whining, no clutch slip, but it when I change down a gear from say 3rd to 2nd at say 40-50 it sounds just like a car that has been stood for a long time and the handbrake stuck on a bit.

Just paranoia I suppose, but Ive never had a car with a stage 2 bernie box, quaiffe diff and alcon 6 paddle clutch.

The car has only done 2000 miles, but the box was built in early 2004.

Anyone any ideas as its doing my head in.

Oh its more noticable in reverse for some reason

THANKS!

Is it like a groan as you lift the clutch pedal up? and once the clutch is fully up the noise stops?

If so its just the clutch material biting and making a groan.

in my experiance AP clutches are notorious for making a groan noise when changing from 3rd to 2nd gear, my AP organic did this noise but it never was a problem

ah I thought you meant it made a knocking sound.

if its the selector then it would struggle to select gears just sat in your drive
