Default 1986 3-door, Moonstone, 1k miles. How much??

I have heard that someone's dad may be considering selling his 3-door that still has that new car smell and the original plastic seat wrappers in, having only done 1200 miles (yes, one thousand two hundred) since 1986.

What sort of guide price would he be looking at?

I'm guessing it's gonna be a fair whack...

Really mate?
I know someone who paid a lot more than that for a 500 with 9k miles on it!
I reckon the 1000 mile car is worth 15-17k

I'd be afraid of a car that has had that little use in that long of a time frame

hi spadge sorry it was a bit confusing, you were both talking about 500's which are a different kettle of fish from the normal 3 door regardless of mileage,
anyway would be nice to see the photos, love this pub talk, i have been offered umpteen no mileage cosworths that have been parked in a barn and forgotten about ( wish i had parked mine in some barn an totally forgot where it was )
see what you can do rsturbo paul ? who knows it may even exist ?
cheers nomad

No matter what is fooked on it, its still worth owning imo if you have the spare cash to lay i up most of its life. Like stumbling on the dead sea scrolls

I agree with Spadge at around Ł15 - 17k but someone might pay more if desperate to own it.

Bargin if they did I paid Ł20k for my 500 and would easily pay Ł20k+ for a 1.5k mile 500, if they did sell at 17k then they potentially lost a lot of money IMO.

Would be more worried about the rings. These low mile cars suffer so much from standing still it's unbelievable. Only use for museum pieces or concours.
