DVLA Registration nightmare
ARGHHHHH
Trying to transfer my No. plate and the DVLA want to see my car
Means i gotta fuck around getting plates made up that are spaced 100% now

timrud, when DVLA office is in middle of Cardiff taking 1hr to get there not having car, then having to get time of work to get car, sort plates out and go down AGIAN, yeah five mins 
Wont go on Q plate but i will go up the wall if they keep me there long as i gotta go out of work and i lose money!!!

They asked ma mate to take his escos to the office to check it over....fine but it was a concours car which went everywhere on a trailer 
took it down on the trailer(30miles away) they looked at the chassis number, vin plates and said ok thanks thats fine! 
there for all of 5mins!
think they're gettin suspicious of cars that have recently been declared SORNed, jumped up pen pushers anyway!

so you have to take the car to them? about to transfer my plate next week, car has no insurance, so cant drive it! has mot and tax, but ive started to strip it down!

I recently had to trail to Sheffield for the same reason - 2 dozy birds with a clipboard had no idea what they looking for - but at least you can book an appointment so yer not hanging about.

You only have to take the car to your local VOSA Inspection Centre.
On average they ask to see 1 in 10 cars, although if the car has been on SORN you are more likely to be asked to show it for inspection.

Rhys I have just had a letter to do the same thing. Its a nightmare got take the morn off work and pay petrol cost and bridge to get there

Doh nightmare Bowk!!
Had the Tax back Tuesday Wens cant remember! and soon as send the tax back they reckon it can take another week or two until i get th elog book back
Have to go through all this again with new car when i get it, to put plate back on

1 reason i was given that any car older than 15yrs has 2 have this done automaticly.
But im wondering if it was cuz i was stopped by the feds 3 months ago for my plates being illegally spaced but maybe im wrong.

just finding my feet
if theres been a gap in tax longer than 18months they will ask to see the car
theres also random ones too based on age ect but if theres a gap within then you will AUTOMATICAlLY be asked to do this
fucking pin for me as i already stripped my car then got told this

so what happened did you lose the plate? have to put the car back on the road? how'd you get round it etc??

my car now has no mot, insurance on it as i aint using it no more, all legal as its sitting on my drive waiting to be broken, for fuck sake, thats proper pissed me off now for the weekend

well just got back, found a mate of a mate, whos on his spare week at work and has a flat bed, £70 ,
yep he looked at the car 5mins after waitng 30mins, then waited another 30mins in the office for them to say its all ok and should get the documents at the end of the week
