Police doing their job?

Heard an almight bang...
...walked outside, to find Police everywhere running around like headless chickens. And here's the result.
They were driving way to fast for the road conditions, were 50 yards beyond a 90 degree right hander and 10 yards past a zebra crossing by the shops. Not to mention the primary school 100 yards further up the road.
How nobody was killed was sheer luck.
1. 4x4 hit the side of the Mondeo, pushing it 15 yards down the road sideways, though a concrete bollard and a garden wall.

That is unfortunate really. Both are traffic cars so the drivers should be highly trained for high speed driving.
In all fairness they are trying to attend to crimes and aren't superhuman, we'd all want to rushing to help us and our loved ones.

Ahh I wondered why it was closed off last night too! - that is litterally 2 or 3 minutes drive away from where I live (in fact the school mentioned I used to go to). On my way home from work yesterday I saw they had blocked the road of from Kent Elms corner as I was going to go that way but had to take Snakes Lane instead.
Not a great fan of the old bill but depsite what the photos look like that road is actually quite wide, pretty straight (until you get to the school area) and it was around 6:30ish so not likely to be too many school kids around because of the school.
What forum did was that orignally posted on?

if you drive within your limits and no faster than the road conditions allow you will never have an accident that is your own fault....
What happened here is carleless driving

Have to admit though (seeing as nobody was hurt) it's quite funny to see they get it wrong as well. Goes to show no matter what training and how good you are things can and do go wrong

i'm sure that if it was a member of my family needing the assistance of the emergency services i'd want them to be rushing to the scene too
but it seems that the police think they are above the law when it comes to driving dangerously in built up areas
like this one
there is no way he could have got himself into that position as he would have had to have been dropped into the front garden to end up like that as he didn't demolish the wall at easither end and it's only just long enough for thepolice car
and not to mention the fact that the road is straight
i know that the incidents the police are involved in only represent a tiny majority of the actual chases they are involved in, but they always seem to end up more bent that the other guy who they invariably fail to catch because they've twated their motor on the way to join in the chase

How can anyone say it was careless driving blah blah blah. theres no info on there saying what happened. For all everyone knows the mondeo could have turned late and the 4 x 4's brakes failed....
Cops cant do a thing right in some peoples eyes.

well then they should get charged with dangerous driving then as that is what they tried with me.
Throw the fookin book at em, they could have very easily killed someone.
I bet if i found a nive empty car park and started doing donuts I would fooked pretty quickly by the cops.

I agree. I was member of the IAM (institute of advanced motorists) not so long ago because my work put me on it. ALL police have to also undertake a test which is the same and if you look at their website it reads like this.
Advanced drivers use a way of driving called "The System" which is derived from the Police "Roadcraft" system of car control. The System of Car Control is a way of driving that allows the driver to approach all situations and negotiate all hazards in a methodical and flexible way that leaves nothing to luck or chance, therefore it will be safe. The driver throughout their guidance will be shown and guided using the System of Car Control which the IAM has used successfully since 1956. Using this system allows the them to use all their skills to deal with any environment or situation, in enough time to decide on the best position, speed and gear of the vehicle to negotiate hazards safely.

Right, I'll take the bait.
1: As far as I am aware no one off here knows how the collsion happened.
2: You may think me a liar but this collision will be investigated to a higher degree than a similar one involving joe public.
3: Traffic police are trained to a higher degree than the IAM, despite what the IAM may tell you. They want you to believe its the same course cos it sounds good to some people and helps em sell. My own driver training took 8 weeks in total.
OK, I'm done.

so, someone with a bit of fizics can tell us how much momentum the POLICE 4x4 wuld need to push the POLICE mondeo 15 yards (which is 45 in old money) AND through the wall AFTER going through the concrete bollard
once we get the fizics out of the way we can see how fast the POLICE 4x4 was going to have caused the impact
then we can get the fizics bods to work out how fast it must have been going if it turns out that the POLICE monedo was also moving at the time of the impact
for every action, there must be an equal and oppositte reaction, so if both vehicles are moving at the same speed and both hit each other headon, they will still be going backwards at some point after the initial impact
come on then peeps, lets work it out in a court of pf
not that i'm saying any of the drivers are at fault, it might have been mechanical failuer to blame

I do not know the area of the collision, but are there any motorways nearby?
As for insurance the answer is a big fat NO, I am with elephant. Some companies do offer a discount of around 5% though.

And there for should have seen the Hazzard or POSABLE HAZZARDS AHEAD, IE Side Roads Parked cars ect ect
So imo the officers in the 4x4 should have given a bigger gap if following the mondeo or taken in that there was a side road that a car could be coming out of
This whot i got told on my SPEED AWARNESS course

But even so if they were going to the sceen nither made it due to the 4x4 going to fast and not taking in the POSABILE HAZZARDS

How can people say the IAM course is the same as the police one when joe public isnt taught to drive at high speeds. It doesnt teach you to drive as fast as it's safe to do so. It teaches you to be more aware, how to read a road and all that bollocks, but all WITHIN the speed limits.
