You need to mate parts of the 2wd and the 4x4 Cossie boxes together iirc but I can't remember which bits. Someone else will come on and elaborate.

easy....in a sierra.

MT75 gearbox from a 2.9 V6, flywheel, clutch, starter, propshaft are the basics.

If putting into a granada.

Use the front case off a 2.9 V6 MT75 gearbox and the input shaft, and then the gubbins and rear case from a DOHC mt75 gearbox, swapping the input shaft for the V6 one aswell.

clutch cable, or hydraulic (hydraulic easier in the granny as they used hydraulic clutches on manual flavoured vehicles)

Dojj knows whats what and whats not on this conversion

the manual pedal box is a direct replacment for the auto one so you can use the same cable as the v6 sierra 4x4
the rest is as gracy has mentioned

cheers for the replies guys, i didnt think manualising was a word but it sounded good enough for me! i think we blew the torque convertor on my granada cosworth it dropped all its fluid and it drives like a manual car with a clutch thats slipping but it catches slightly every so often giving you a very small burst of drive.
im looking to put a manual box in the granada or otherwise rip the engine out for a 3 door sierra!

put some more fluid in it to see if it works
much cheaper than swapping boxes

Just find a 2wd type 9 box a prop from a V6 and a 2.8 flywheel + peddle box.

No mucking about converting boxes to fit

I have had a type 9 box in my 24v XR4i for a couple of years now, but i don't do donuts.

not necessarily.

I used to hear this all the time on the Granada forum, and quite often people just used to refill and go on, sometimes for months. But it will go eventually properly. And it's usually the rear seal (I think, but I can't remember, and can't be arsed to look it up at the mo. Check the Granada Enthusiasts Forum)
