You will need a group a fuel pump mate for the sake of £150 is it worth the risk would also get a group a coil you dont realy need one but for about £30 makes sure you get a good spark

group a coil and a bosch 044 pump is one of the best mods to do if you are going for more power.

I used to get misfires on hi boost but this has since disappeared when i fiited the grp a coil

yes mate i'd recommend getting both. Not like a massive cost really considering cost of a failed pump/rebuild

See Phil Boschman for an excellent pump price

i guess for no other reason than they are being asked to do something they were never designed to do...

i know what your getting at though, people do tend to 'waste' money on things that are not needed, but imho i'd do the fuel pump and lines to be safe

mate there not doing anything other than what they can do

a landrover being used for the school run aint doing what its was intended,, but it does it fine

changing fuel lines for fuel lines the same is not belt and braces,,,,,,,, you may as well fit a new screen whilst your doing it as thats gonna have the same effect

its not electrical and theres no actual wear on a fuel line unles you have caught it

theres NO POINT chaning em for the sake of it other than,,,,,,,, just to waste money

i mentioned this as the advice is POINTLESS and also WRONG

mentioning there 20 years old wasthe pointless and bad infomation,,,,,,, will how ever need a new floor pan before he needs the fuel lines,,,,,,,,, i sugest he changes them first jsut to be sure

but but but

what pressure does an 044 pump throw up the lines before the reg? surely more than standard?! so there's a bit of extra stress, they will surely have some wear externally too?

i don't see it as a bad thing at all to change them, ok they may not need doing, but i could probably list 10 other cossie mods that don't need doing, some may even be on your car b19bal

mate my cossie has VERY NUT AND BOLT NEW under the bonnet that i never needed to be done, the bling ect also dont need to be done

but i wont say,,,,,,, mate when you take your engine out change every nut bolt and expantion nut cause there 20 years old and bound to have wear

the argument about the fuel FLOWING is pointless too as there not restricting the flow at all,,,,,,,, as for the presure ,,,,,,,,,,,,, erm when you set your car up did you tuen the fuel presure reg to have more presure than before,,,,,,,,,,,, i hope not as the point of the pump is to keep a constant suply of fuel top end,,,,,,,,, that means the pump LACKS the flow and why a 044 is needed,,,,,,, to make it to keeep the SAME correct presure

hope that helps a little , im gonna make my self another coffee as this one will be cold next month

sorry having a dumb ass moment there i know exactly how the cossie fuel system works, and yes i know the pressure is controlled by the reg regardless of what pump is fitted......but i'll not back down new parts are always better than old!!!

and you wanna hurry up with your engine, the shell will have rotted away before you get chance to fit it

I can see your point b19bal,
Its just that when Karl had my car in for some work, he upgraded the pump for me, the fuel lines on my 3dr weren`t in the best condition to say the least,

So thats why we fitted new ones to mine.............

The only time you will need to fit new lines is if they have been damaged ie crushed apart from that its a total waste of time
