buy a block thats fooked and go from there tbh

gasket set is 300ish to 400, then the bearings are around 300ish, pistons are 500ish, rod bolts and head bolts 250ish machine work about another 250 ish then another 500 for sundrys i guess

thats when it all goes well i guess

usually theres gonna be " ill buy another clutch, then ill buy new cams, then ill rebuild the head then oooo i know ill go and buy qiup ect, then fuel pump then then then then then then then then then

then you sell it 3 month later and buy a newer car with aircon

depends on the spec Grant, for a standard rebuild, pistons, rebore, crank grind shells, gaskets etc with a group a or cometic gasket you should be able to do it for about a grand.

I rebuilt my bottom end with rebore new pistons, reground crank, skimmed flywheel, new oil pump all gaskets including cometic head gasket and an alcon clutch for £1250, but I did shop around for parts and picked a lot up from shows to get showprice discount.
Hope that helps.

you'll need all new bearings and thrust washers(big end/mains/small end),new oil pump and possibly pick up pipe,gasket/seals set,new pistons and piston rings, defo have the head rebuilt by a pro, will stop most of the common cossie smoke probs, maybe have turbo rebuilt too.

obviously machine work on top of that too,but i did mine for less than £2000,using all genuine parts, some sourced cheap from GGR on ebay....big ends, small ends and mains cost me less than £100
