yes,,,

being honest,, the only people i know with bike engine cars are radicals,,,, but they are a pain in the arse!!

i know you can get uprated gearboxes,, but these aint cheap,, you might aswell build a good car engine for the money

Thing is cossie paranoia only kicks in when ya start pushing more than say 330... Would you NEED more than 330 in a ultralight Dax rush? Thats how i looked at it

DO you need more than 200bhp in a car like that is really the question.

Personally, I'd just stick with a Zetec - nice and easy fit, reliable, cheap etc

Which why the bike engined variants appealed, I think the 1600 VTEC would make a cracking engine in a coffin, revs like fuck, 160 ish bhp and pretty much bomb proof
a 1.8 integra type r engine would be better

my bros has gone from one extreme to the other, he had a 3.5EFI RV8 in a Dax and even tho is barely 200bhp the engine was far too torquey for the road, the car would take the fun from driving a purpose built "fun" car. not once had I even seen it truley driven in anger mainly because the rear end lost traction at any speed in any gear even with the DAX wide arch options.

he now running a fireblade engined DAX with all the lightwieght options and it a car you really want the thrash the life out of makes a much better drivers car.

Bike engined kit cars are a real nice toy on the road

M8 has got an MK Indy with an R1 engine and box,set up and dyno-jetted in the car at TTS,Silverstone

Feels like a go cart on the roads, roundabouts don't exist

6 speed sequential gearchange of the bike gearbox makes them more of a toy, rapid accelaration

The bike engine has plenty of power for these kits, another m8 has got one with a Vaux 2 litre XE on carbs, the bike engined ones are alot faster upto 100 mph

No gearbox breakages that I know of

The bonus with the MK kits is that you can build one,use it for a year, say 4000 miles, then sell it on for atleast £1500 profit
