sorry didnt think of searching.

i found a nice cheap car for the misses but it is a CAT C.
you would think that it'll be ok as it has to be inspected but it would always be in the back of your mind when driving it i think.

probably best to leave it.

cheers for the help!

I bought a Cat C Astra that had a wing, light, indicator, bonnet and bumper.... Bought for Ł450 repaired but needed a VIC check, got the VIC done and sold it for Ł800 6 months later.

VIC = Vehicle Identity Check (basically making sure you've not ringed it)

I don't think I'd buy a CAT C for my own personal use.

why not?

if its been repaired properly, then whats the issue?

and as steve said, some cars only need an indicator to be broken for the car to be written off

Yeah, i wouldn't have a problem with a cat c car for my own use providing it had been repaired properly.

It also depends how old the car is as obviously a older cat c car will be much less damaged then a 54 plate cat c car.

I've seen cars that have only needed a wing down as class c. Good cars aswell not dogdy shitty kia rios and the alike.

Agreed, look at mine from january, needed a wing, bonnet, bumper and headlight. Came back on the HPi report as "extensively damaged" bollox

Had it all properly repaired....

And here it is now...

I know what you mean tho from a buyers point of view, exactly why i took lots of pictures and documented the repair for the next owner.

your right mate.
it is a 206 and is registered as a cat c.

if it has been registered does that mean its been inspected and therefore ment to be safe to use?
