Default Painted my boot floor and wheel well

as title decided best look at state of my boot floor and wheel well for rust, and to my suprise no rust at all just horride crappy grey paint so thought id protect it and make it look nicer with some hammerite smooth.

halfway through painting my mate came round and said OMG u should have not have done that but as i was halfway through i finsihed, he said i have now runined and fooked my car, have i this wont damage my car will it? and hasnt ruined it has it??

Well it won't physically damage it, but I wouldn't have done it myself if your car is grey because it'll make it look like it's had a new floor panel put in. If you're keeping the car long term though I don't suppose it matters.

Painting is a good idea IMO but i wouldn't leave it black. Get a couple of tins of the correct colour paint and give it a quick blast.
I might do this myself because my spare wheel well is a bit messy.

What I'd be tempted to do is let that paint cure so it'll keep the rust off, then prime over it and then spray it the right colour. Then you've got a rust proofed boot and it doesn't look like it's had a new panel put in.

ok guys thanks ill leave it a week then order some paint and primar it and get it colour coded is it best to spray or paint brush it on

I'd spray personally, but just make sure you REALLY mask up the car!!! you'd be surprised how far spray paint particles can get!!!!!!!

im sure you arnt spray over hammerite

well every time i have tried it reated so had ro rub it all off

just a thought
