I can smell bullshit from a mile away, and soon as he was banging on about the turbo stuff at the start I could see he was making shit up to suit his argument.
Then saw the website and noticed all the pics were blatantly ripped off from big reputable companies, and luckily enough, the two main ones I already had contacts with, so well, happy days

What a thread
Plus Just to add something to the initial question. My brother has one of these turbos T3/04(bought for about £300 through ebay) fitted to my old car, it boost 28psi and has done so for the last 5,000 miles, without any probs. He needed to make an adaptor to space the turbo away from the head slightly.

Pretty much.
Depends who owns it.
From what I can gather it can be as basic or as "tuning" as the owner likes, which makes it quite appealing if you got the trade.
You pretty much jus pay for the branding and so on.
Either way, its always just a shop, and not like he made out, and he obv did a shit job at it if he aint now.
Id put money he was just general/assistant manager or summat rather than owner too.

Few pictures Garrett vs. Masterpower. The pictures are taken from one Finnish reseller that sells both and he told that Masterpower turbos are actually very well made.

Okay.
The first picture is commented as that masterpower's casting isn't any worse than what garrett has.
The second one is about the same thing but from the turbine housings and it also states that some grease coating from garrett is missing (garrett on the right side.
3rd picture is from that the levels are flat and properly machined. Masterpower on the left side.
4th picture from the backplate, nothing special there.
5th picture from the assembling of the masterpower. That masterpower has used copper paste and that they have used bolts that go through and that the bolts are sealed with silicone paste.
The rest of those pictures are just showing how well masterpowers are actually machined.
