Default whats involved in a cossie engine freshen up?

I want to take my cossie off the road after the show season and with the help of a couple of mates, (who know what their doing lol) give the engine a freshen up, its only done 90k and is pretty ok, but not sure what would be involved in an engine freshen up, keeping to standard spec, as i want to start buying the bits now to be honest, as well as an engine stand lol, as I have a few other ideas for a tidy looking engine bay,

cheers for any help

depends on how much you want to spend, and how many bits you want it in?

What i mean is, do you have to replace everything in the block, or could you say reuse so parts, whats most likely to need replacing, the engine is running fine, just thinking it would be a good idea to do a freshen up the car over winter,

gra tbh you might be better off buying ANOTHER engine thats smokey and rebuilding that with all machine work, new pistons ect then when you have a spare few weeks then swop em over

Imo as its 4x4 do it properly as its not a 5 minute job to ge tthe lump out....

16 valve guides
Piston and ring set
Oil pump and drive
Full bearing set
Full gasket set
Oil and filter
Antifreeze

Then....

Crank grind
Engine rebore
Recut and reseat 16 valves

As an estimate budget yaself £1200 - £1500 and then just yours and friends labour
