Default RS Turbo heater matrix question

Hi all,can someone please tell me which pipe SUPPLIES the water to the heater matrix??Is it the pipe from the front of the block near the thermostat,or is the pipe coming up of the bottom radiater hose on the cambelt side of the engine.I know its a little bit of an anorack/technical question, but someone on here must know the water flow route. Thanks in advance,Micky

Hose from thermostate housing goes to the top of the heater matrix.

From what i understand it does matter.

You need the cold water to fall to help circulation.

Hot water from top of engine to top of heater matrix.
Cooler water out at the bottom goes to the bottom of the engine.

The hose from the thermostate housing is the hot flow into the heater matrix.
