Yep, I went along there yesterday and I thought it was a pretty good day. Damn fine weather if not a little too hot!! LOL!

I have to say that the highlight of the day for me, was the Jet Car. Wow, that thing is so mega loud!! Saw it make two passes yesterday. I've never seen (or heard) anything like it before, and I have to say that when it tore down the strip I actually jumped back in fear of the thing, LOL!! The noise as it flew past did take me by surprise a bit!

Other highlights.... There was a decent display of Mk1 Astra's which I have a soft spot for, several DeLorean's which also took to the strip too, a mega loud red Corvette Stingray which was very quick indeed. Some funky minis, two Renault Alpine's which I've never seen in the flesh before, some proper american drag cars which were very quick.

Cheers Beach

It was a long weekend, and 750 mile round trip..

Couple of videos.

http://media.putfile.com/stevieturbo...ta-Pod-July-06

http://media.putfile.com/stevieturbo...ta-pod-july-06

And of course a slip

http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=7/18313362424.jpg&s=f10

Was very nearly not making it home.

On my 4th run, the blower belt shredded just 1 second after hitting 3rd gear. Normally not so bad, it it grabbed some wiring, causing a bit of a meltdown, luckily I got the battery disconnected quickly, and no major damage was done.
Managed to bodge a repair, fit a new belt, and car got us home safely.
The 4th run with only 1st and 2nd gears managed 13.2s at 75mph !!!

Left early in the hope of getting an earlier boat home, to at least get some sleep, but ended up there wasnt a boat when I thought, so had to wait at Cairnryan in Scotland for 5 hours til 0415 sailing we were booked on...

Got to admit I didn't see any of those 3 cars there

Corvette is my mates car, was running far from full potential due to a few minor problems and a unprepped track.

Terry Davies Blue mk2 Escort is just bonkers

Spoke with the owner of the Cossie powered NMS Sunbeam, sound bloke and sweet motor, one of my favourites of the tbh.

Granada is crazy, suprised me a totb as its such a sleeper.

There was a good selection of other cars on show, didn't see that much though as I was trying to stay out of the sun !

Only downside for anyone that ran was the unprepped track, saw far too many close calls for my liking, lots of high speed drifting from the blue mk2 and Mick Rogers Cortina !

Alg1k Serious car you have there.

Thought u selected the wrong gear on your run, loads of lag then loads of sideways, nice one for keeping your foot in though

I actually thought the track was quite grippy.
Thats the most traction Ive got anywhere !!! between Avon park, Elvington, or Crail, although you cant really compare Crails old surface ( I believe they now have a decent startline surface )

I was just hanging on
Samco are doing me some uprated pipes so in going to go to the next RWYB and try to better my shockinly slow 12 @130 mph
The lag cost me atleast 2 sec
I may even turn the nitrous on.

Yeah I was there - was tooooooo bloody hot tho - got a nicely burnt chest!!!

Beach saw your car leaving - I was on the Retro Mag stand with the 21Turbos & the orange/yellow stripped out Fuego turbo!!

StevieTurbo - fair play - your car was amazing - the way it put the power down was stunning!!!

Daz - watched your wobbly run - nearly got it on camera too but pressed the wrong button! Doh! I'm sure you went over the line a bit sideways too - nice one for hanging on!!!!
