Default Hydraulic clutch conversion on an rs turbo

What are the advantages of running a hydraulic clutch?
How do they work?
What gets binned and replaced?
Noticeable difference to changing of gear and clutch pedal feel?

Tuners that carry out the conversion and how much?

Discuss please

A mate of mine did it to his orion as he was sick of snapping clutch cabes.
He used parts from rally designs that cost £200 and converted fords pedal box for the master cylinder and made a bracket on the gear box for a slave cylinder, now he hasn't had any problems also the pedal feel is realy light you wouldnt belive that it runs a paddle clutch.

I've done it on my Series 2 mate - only because i'm running a Focus RS gearbox

Obviously it's a bit different to how you'll be doing it because my gearbox was already hydraulic.

However - i would imagine it wouldn't be too hard to actuate the movement at the gearbox end

I'm doing hydraulics at work at the moment mate - so if you want me to look into anything - let me know.

Alternatively give Martin a ring at Reyland - he was doing this conversion on the cossies as i remember

No problem with standard Tony - but if the car is hydaulic equipped already (the bmw is) then it would be silly not to use it

Can you not use the setup off a Puma as they have hydraulic clutches and run the IB5 box.
