Chances are, the gas has escaped. The pressure switch will have stopped the compressor from clicking in and out.
Take it to an air con centre and get the pressures chcked and re gas it if required.

theres a electro-magnetic clutch which makes it work, this will either be burnt out and not working, or fell off and be either in the under-tray or on the road somewhere.
Or you've got a broken wire/faulty switch/fuse blown or something..

Just because it was gassed last week doesn't mean that the gas hasn't leaked out. If it's got a leak, it can leak out in a few minutes, a few days or even a few weeks....
It could be that the pressure switch has failed or the clutch has gone open circuit or a wiring fault or it could be any sort of sensor. Even the old Escort non turbo diesel vans had sensors and diodes all over the place.

this will test the wiring all the way to the pressure switch, then to the compressor, leaving only the switch and gas content, more than liely still a leak tho pal if it worked last week

depending on age of focus you can get error codes up on the milage displya by holding the rest button and switch the igniton on or something, i'm pretty sure air con pressure switch will throw up a code if it's fubbered.

Check if the system was pressure tested with oxygen free nitrogen. This is the proper way to test for leaks on any ac system. The system should be vacced out prior to re-gassing the system. If it was re-gassed last week, take it back and let them do the head scratching.A properly tested system should not lose it's gas within 1 week.

I had my air-con gassed one weak, and it didn't work the next, was leaking on a union going to the Air/con condenser, me and my mate put a coloured dye in it, then we used special glasses and a ultra-violet gun, thats how we found mine, the gas escaping stopped the compressor from kicking in, which it will do if the pressure regulator can see there's no pressure in the system.

my fiesta is much the same . switch the air con on and nothing happens. I took it to get the gas checked, no problems there. The guy reckoned it was probably an electrical fault. The fuse for the system is ok , though not sur where else on the system to check
