Default are -6 fittings are the same size as 3/8bsp?

As title really, i need to order another fuel regulator, and the only size i can get is either 8mm push on, or -6 screw on. I am using a screw on regulator at the moment that uses 3/8 bsp, is this the same as -6, or am i better off just ordering the 8mm push on job?

many thanks
