Default Oil seperator and tank help required

How would i connect this in with a catch tank.

I have two breathers (1 from cam cover, 1 from engine block) which leaves a vent to fresh air and oil return to sump.

I dont want to return to sump so can i return to a spec r mirror image thank with no problems

If it breathes heavy surely you want the oil back in the sump? You couldn't use the oil return (but could the vent pipe, as Spadge says) to catch tank, as you'd have to have the breather higher than the catch tank.....

so on this, the two on the side go to cam cover and block.

where does the fat one on the bottom go to? is there only 3 pipes coming off it?

i get alot of oil in my engine bay, as my standard system breathes to atmos just above my intercooler (little filter) and i have no airbox.

can some one explain how the standard breather works? and what the advnatages of the bailey one are? i'm getting fed up with how oily my engine bay gets all the time.

also would like to know how you fit one of these, without drilling the rocker cover

The bottom large one just vents to atmosphere, the smaller one is the oil return (and should ideally be fed back to the sump).

Ginge - like this:

so in my engine the breather pipe on the right should vent to an airbox, but doesnt as i havent got one

why did ford design it this way?

so if it fit one of these, i wont have oil all over my engine?

in the above pciture, where does the breeather pipe on the left of the engine attatch to?

Ginge,
One goes to the original flame trap arrangement and the other goes to the block fitting (which comes with the Bailey kit) underneath the exhaust manifold (which is usually used as the drain , but will only drain back once engine is switch off due to the crank case pressure stopping it until then ). The drain is then fitted to the sump (below oil level).

sorry about all the questions

i'm inquisitive

is the flame trap, the pinky red part i have sticking out through the gap in my inlet manifold branch. this is what spills out to atmos in my car!

so i need to buy the fitting kit too? i wasnt sure if it was just hoses or fittings too.

how does the smaller tube return to sump? does this have a fitting too?

any difference between the bailey and pro-alloy, as they have been doing some real good deals on here lately (pro-alloy)

Yes, that's the flame trap (the only place a standard Cossie "breaths" from).

Yes you do need the fitting kit.

No, the Bailey kit does not come with this, as the fitting kit is designed to breath from flame trap / cam cover and then drain to fitting under exhaust manifold. To change drain point, you have to get someone to make adapter on the sump...

I would imagine it is very similar if it is a three port system.

may get in touch with pro-alloy. go see them, see what they say, they have new fitting premises now, i hear so can get them to sort it all for me
