Default Dreaded rust............... NOOOOOO!!!

Been trying to ignore my rear arches but i cant anymore

Basically i want to know what i should do about it?

Now thats the rear passenger side, drivers side isnt as bad though.

So what do i do? is it a decent bodyshop job or is it completly new arch?

Damn shame because the rest of the car is 100%, you can see yourself in every panel its just the rear arches.

what steps do i take to sort it?

Get some arch repair panels and get someone who knows what their doing (a bodyshop) to cut the rust out, weld the new metal in and paint it!

I had this on my saff, (not quite that bad!! ) the body shop got a new arch section and just replaced the edge of the arch. Good as new now! Got to be worth getting a quote for it tho...

Rust will come back if you dont go for the new arch.
when i had my RS turbo stripped and "de-rusted" they cut the old arch out and re welded new ones in,after the paint was done on them you couldnt tell and they should be good for years now.(i had the whole car, stripped of bodykit, glass bumpers,de-rusted everywhere and repainted)

You need to get over to www.bodyshopwarehouse.co.uk and buy some new rear wheel arch's and then find a good body shop.

I got the same thing done on my car this month. but know way was it as bad as yours.

well ive had this car for over a year now and plan on keeping it for at least another year or so, so i think having it cut out and welding new metal in/painting sounds the best option

As said though the car is mint apart from this so its well worth spending ŁŁŁ's on sorting it

They rot because its where the inner wing meets out the outer wing and they are not sealed properly so water what not gets in the gap at the arch and rots it out from the inside out

Useless ford designs

I'll bet the reall bad side has had a rear 1/4 panel put on at some stage, or at least accident damage..
