My missus recons option 1..
I might spec and price up a proper engine and gather the parts slowly.

Then do the diffs and gearbox's as they happen lol

I had the luck to do what I called the perfect Escort and get paid for it last year,cost about 20k
500hp 483ftlb
Quafie box/diffs/rear beam/Leda's,Autronic/Aim dash/custom intercooler/rad, So many other parts I cant remember them all ,
But it was a proper Tool and would be what I would do to a escort to make it what I would call the best set up out there for me .

that pretty much hits the nail on the head, don't get me wrong I never wanted to be the best with the Cos or compete on top speed but I just can jusify spending £15k on the Monte for it to be only a bit faster then my Old fiesta in a straight line. Track days is the way forward with the Monte, and a new FWD is the way forward for the sprints.

Gotta plan
All that really matters is you are happy with the car & what you are spending on it. Enjoy it & produce the best within your budget. Hope that plan comes together, keep us posted

just enjoy te monte for what it is mate,im going to get a 2wd/4wd saph and just stage 1 it and enoy her as they are just money pits waiting to happen so enjoy

i have a s1 and a cossie, and they dont bore me, the s1 always
puts a smile on ym face, even if i have just jumped out the cossie
