I used to own a CR250r if you like the 2stroke then great but if you want driveability get the wr450f better torque and rideability. The 250 used to scream at me and on the jumps i found it hard to change gear all the time but with my 450 it just does it in virtually any gear!! Looks a nice bike though mate!!

Had a result only Ł400 but it would only run if you bumped it and then it would sound a little rough. I was up first thing this morning and now its looks like this
It dont look to bad. there is a little bit of movement in the little ends and 1 of the reevs (spelling?) has a split. but it all looks in quite good shape.

2 strokes are about a million times better than 4 strokes for jumping etc. 4 strokes can be dangerous when you're getting used to them as they have so much engine breaking that if you're not fully on the throttle all the way out of the jump you end up nose diving and going over the bars. 2 stroke all you need is a little blip of the throttle at the top of the jump and all's good.

Looks in good shape mate they need rebuilding often anyway. Just remember to very regularly change the oil i did mine about every 20hrs of riding!!!

used to have one meself absolute stonking bikes , good and reliable we
hen looked after , i used to give mine death every time i took it out and it used to just keep coming back for more lol ,
dnt know about any forums , but i had quite a good knowldge of mine , could always pm me if u get stuck mate ..
im gonna look for another one meself !

I have never riden a 4 poper but what put me off was the price of a rebuild. Ok they dont blow up as often as a 2 stroke but as posted before if you change the oil regular then they aint to bad.

That's a good price mate, it look's like it could be from around 93 to 95 judging by the shape of the plastic's and it's over all condition.
A split reed will cuase it to run boggy, they are pretty cheap to replace anyhow. As for the wee end, I would get that sorted before it turn's into something nasty.
What's the top end like on her? Did you do any kind of compression test?

Its a 97 mate and the condition of it is ok, but has a lot of dirt that needs getting at. My bufty skills from the turbs will soon be used to get her sparkling. It also has a full DEP pipe on it which must be worth a bit ? I think its gonna need a full rebuild but i'll let the experts decide on that.

You know what i thought that ! I was looking at some pics from a 97 bike this morning before i left and they are defo an ally frame. How can you tell because they dont have a vin plate do they ?

Mate there should be a serial number stamped on the engine case by the oil filler hole and also a number stamped up at the steering column on the frame. Find the numbers and phone your local dealer to find out exactly what year it is.
