A split reed will cuase it to run boggy, they are pretty cheap to replace anyhow. As for the wee end, I would get that sorted before it turn's into something nasty.
What's the top end like on her? Did you do any kind of compression test?
Its a 97 mate and the condition of it is ok, but has a lot of dirt that needs getting at. My bufty skills from the turbs will soon be used to get her sparkling. It also has a full DEP pipe on it which must be worth a bit ? I think its gonna need a full rebuild but i'll let the experts decide on that.
