Default clutch pedal height

just fitted the mk5 pedal and quadrant to my S2 and the pedal is really high, well above the other two.

I cut the section out as instructed and adjusted the bolt, how do I lower it to match the others?

do I have to cut more of the quadrant?

thanks

It's a fine balance between cutting a little more off the quadrant, but taking care not to take away the width of the flat surface of it. You can also trim the locknut down too. I actually cut the nut right down and put a blob of weld on it to hold it, but you must still make sure that the nut has a flat surface to contact the flat surface of the quadrant.

Hope this makes sense.

You may not get it down as low as the others, but that will certainly help. I'm used to mine now.

Default pedal conversion

i have got the same problem my pedal still sits high i thought this conversion was supose to stop this hapening??? The pedal works fine and the bite is perfect but with the pedal so high it takes away the advantage of me fitting a quickshift. can any1 help with regards to me getting my pedal to sit lower???? can i just remove the locknut and the allenkey i suppose that would help??? i cant see why not as there is a welded on nut that the allen key threads into anyway

The nuts is there to give a pedal a wide 'foot' to press onto the quadrant with. If you used the bolt with no nut on the end or not bolt atall, it would break the quadrant very quickly.

Yep!! I did the exact thing with my first quadrant and it lasted about 3000 miles

Default pedal

but i am saying what if i take that bolt out iswell so there is no bolt or m8 locknut. Coz if you can remember your new pedal then you may have seen the exsisting welded on nut, surely that is a wide as the m8 locknut and could do the job the same???? if you dont know what i mean then look at the thread i put up in the escort thread, someone put pics of the pedal up. Then you will see the black welded on nut at the bottom of the allen key bolt. I hope you know what i am on about, its still early in the morning for me soz
